Scrapbook Midrash Elective 2012

Kitah Vav teacher Ali Shevrin had the idea to have students react to the parting of the Red Sea Torah portion through asking questions and creating their own Midrash..  We read the story together and students came up with a list of questions.
My idea was for students to expand on their questions with scrapbook pages.

It was fun to use a lot of materials such as scrapbook paper, cutouts, and stickers.
Students came up with great questions and unique pages.

By the end of the class, most students had at least one page completed.

Sunday, December 9, preschoolers and families gathered for Sunday Stories.  They listened to the book Hanukkah Lights by David Martin and together, enjoyed making Hanukkah safety lighters  and  play dough menorahs.

Because it was the first day of Hanukkah, there were grandparents in town spending quality with their grandchildren.

The next Sunday Stories is planned for Sunday, January 20 on the Ohavi Zedek Hebrew School Mitzvah Day.

Midrash and Scrapbooking

The parting of the red sea and the story of Nachshon, will be a source of inspirtation for Ohavi Zedek Hebrew School students taking the Midrash and Scrapbooking elective class.  Please remind your child to bring in photos from home for the next Wednesday Hebrew School if your child is taking the Midrash Scrapbooking class.  Thank you.
